  • Special features regarding teaching
The sports science courses do not include a mandatory semester abroad, but many students do go abroad for one semester. When combined with English studies, students often choose to study at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in the USA. Academic achievements gained abroad are recognised, both in the bachelor’s degree and in the master's degree. This means that even when students do a semester abroad they can adhere to the standard period of study. The sports science institute explicitly supports students wishing to study abroad.

  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Université d'Orléans, Frankreich; Università degli Studi di Bologna, Italien; Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Niederlande; Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norwegen; Universidad de Zaragoza, Spanien
  • Other special features
The Institute of Sports Science of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg is a small institute where communication within and between the various status groups works very well. The student council makes a valuable contribution to this with its tutoring of first-year students, especially during the Orientation Week. There are no large mass lectures at the institute. There is time for questions and concerns of the students in the lectures and during office hours.
