  • Special features regarding teaching
    The Bachelor's degree course and teacher training courses for primary and secondary levels 1 and 2 and for vocational schools are offered in close cooperation. This means that it is often possible to switch smoothly from BA to LA degree courses and vice versa. The two master's degree courses then enable further academic qualification. Due to its location in the Saar-Lor-Lux triangle, there is an overall high proportion of international students in addition to the proportion of students in the International High-Performance Master's degree.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    The sports infrastructure can be characterised as exemplary. Due to the option of using the sports facilities of organised sports (Saarland State Sport Federation), the Olympics Support Point Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland, as well as through the close cooperation with the Sports Medicine faculty (Institute for Sports and Preventive Medicine), the ideal conditions for research and teaching/training are created. Separate laboratories with specific measurement technology are available, especially for the area of movement and training science.
  • Sport facilities
    The university a partner university for top sports. For this reason, there are individually tailored solutions for federal cadre athletes at the neighbouring Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland Olympic Training Centre, if required, which guarantee the compatibility of studies and a top athlete's career. The very well-equipped sports facilities at the neighbouring Hermann Neuberger Sports School can also be used for teaching.
  • Special features regarding research activities
    Interaction of cognition and motor skills, age simulation, self-assessment and processing strategies of cognitive and motor tasks. Effort and willingness to exert effort in kindergarten and school sport as well as popularity and acceptance of physical education, method development for health sport. Interdisciplinary analysis methods informationally and energetically influenced processes in the learning and training process. Deviant behaviour in sport, Sport organisations and social figures in sport, Extra-scientific influences on sport science.
  • Support for founders
    Together with Exist of Saarland University, a business start-up seminar specifically for sports science is held on a regular basis. With the Starterzentrum, the university itself has established methods for the targeted promotion of business start-ups.
