  • Special features regarding teaching
The HSBA attaches particular importance to ensuring that students find excellent study conditions and feel comfortable at their university and in their company. On the one hand, the bright and friendly atmosphere and the modern technical equipment of the campus create optimal learning conditions. On the other hand, the entire university-related literature, databases and journals are available in the university library, the Commerzbibliothek. Small course groups of max. 30 students.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The HSBA offers a large number of its programmes in English. The Master’s programmes have a high percentage of international students. Students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad or a summer school at an international partner university. A study excursion abroad is part of the curriculum for a large number of the programmes. Internationality is also important to the HSBA in teaching, so that international lecturers are also regularly invited.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Haaga Helia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finnland; Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Kroatien; BI Norwegian Business School, Oslo, Norwegen; Warsaw School of Economics, Polen; Hang Seng University of Hong Kong; SolBridge International School of Business, Daejong, Südkorea; University of Nottingham UNNC, Ningbo, China; Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, USA; ESIC Valencia & Madrid, Spanien; Rotterdam Business School, Niederlande.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
The Commerzbibliothek of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is also the university library of the HSBA. The library has a total of around 200,000 media, among them numerous electronic media and databases, such as DBIS, EBSCO, Kompass, Statista and WISO. The modern seminar rooms are equipped with smartboards, and all university members use the learning and communication platform “HSBA Teams”. Students can always keep track of their schedules and data via the university’s own smartphone app.
  • Special features regarding research and development
Research at the HSBA is application-oriented, intended to cover the Hamburg campus and bring academia and industry together. Teaching and research are closely interlinked. Contents and methods from research projects are incorporated into academic teaching, meaning current research results are directly implemented in students' education. Ideas and questions equally arise for specific research projects from teaching. Research at the HSBA covers practical issues and offers solutions to current problems.
