  • Special features regarding research activities
Inter-disciplinary research topics in the life sciences; participation in the Graduate School of Computing in Medicine and Life Sciences; close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Image Processing, current mathematical research topics include, in addition to image processing, time series analysis and non-linear dynamics, fourier analysis, approximation theory, stochastic differential equations/processes, combinatorics and focus on genetic statistics in connection with medicine; coordination of two EU joint projects on mathematics and life sciences with exchange for young scientists.
  • Support for founders
The University of Lübeck is one of only a few EXIST start-up universities, a distinction awarded by the BMBF. The GründerCube is located in the centre of the Lübeck campus and serves as a coordination and advice centre for all start-up issues.
