    High practical relevance through (1) project work in cooperation with companies in the region; (2) learning factory "Industrial Engineering": Application of methods in a realistic production environment; (3) laboratory, in which essential manufacturing processes are taught on machines in small groups.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Joint dual-degree Master’s programme “Production Engineering and Management” with the University of Trieste with a compulsory semester abroad. Intensive subject-specific exchange via annual joint international conference at both locations (“International Conference on Production Engineering and Management”). Module with subject-specific international focus within the Master’s programmes (e.g. modules “Global Production”, “International Management Skills”).
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Extensive machinery, such as the latest generation of lathes and milling machines, laser sintering system, water jet cutting system, injection moulding machines, laser machines, woodworking machines, assembly robots; further information on individual laboratory pages.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    Research focus "ProErgo - Ergonomics of production machines in the context of Industry 4.0" and "DiMan - Direct digital manufacturing in the context of Industry 4.0"; applied research in various laboratories; research relevance / activities within the top cluster it´s OWL / the operation of the Smart Factory OWL.
