Special features regarding teachingThe Karlshochschule International University in Karlsruhe has a cultural approach that is brought to bear as basic content in various B.A. modules and in several modules in the consecutive M.A. degree course. Teaching focuses on inter-disciplinary links between management, communication and culture. Teaching pursues a constructivist triad of instruction, construction and reflection. In 2015, the Karlshochschule also committed to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
Special features regarding the international orientationMandatory semester abroad in the Bachelor's programmes in the 4th or 5th semester at numerous partner universities worldwide. High proportion of foreign students (approx. 70%). High proportion of professors and lecturers from abroad. Teaching language English from the 1st or 3 semesters.

Special features regarding the equipmentWorthy of mention are the study of, in particular, student initiatives such as web-based campus TV and a considered approach to university material. The Karlshochschule provides technical equipment and all the possibilities of Web 2.0; the lecture hall equipment offers all modern elements of university teaching with a focus on interaction.
Special features regarding research and developmentResearch initiatives, such as on the topic of "Branded Spaces", look in a targeted manner for inter-disciplinary links between humanities and social science content with Management Studies. These issues make new interpretive approaches to Economics a priority and relevant.
Support for foundersMember of the Karlsruhe Founding Alliance (Gründerallianz Karlsruhe), cooperation with initiatives to promote start-ups (CyberForum, business development, pioneer garage), excursions to start-ups, integration of (social) entrepreneurship into teaching, corporate projects for networking with companies and organisations
Other special featuresThe targeted address of responsible young students pursuing ethical, academic and entrepreneurial goals is characteristic (particularly voluntary positions and involvement in civil society commitment). Interaction between students and professors is above average.
