Special features regarding teachingVery broadly based course modules and choice of optional modules with different areas of specialisation, systematic integration of theory and practice in the cooperating companies, systematic introduction to academic work, link programmes, tutorials, language programmes and learner training in cooperation with the LearningCentre, inter-disciplinary projects (project work) and Applied Science labs with direct relevance to practice, integrated concepts for incremental skills development, intensive supervision by academic staff offering a high level of availability (including in the practical phases), cross-semester evaluation.
Special features regarding the international orientationStudents are prepared for working in an international environment (e.g. international personnel management, marketing, taxation, cross-cultural management) through internationally oriented modules. Two modules are offered as an international Summer University (elective modules) together with international incoming students. One summer school takes place abroad with a partner university in South Africa.

Special features regarding the equipmentFaculty: 17 laboratories for the area of Business Administration, Information Technology & Engineering, 9 PC pools with standard software and special software, additionally 28 laptops for mobile use; software equipment for R&D: CAD & simulation software and project management software, programming, database search and WiFi access in all rooms of Hochschule Osnabrück (Eduroam), smartboards and classroom response systems, e-learning platform for supervision and information supply to the students in the practical phase and for individual feedback on practical transfer projects, VPN Client for remote access literature.
Special features regarding research and developmentSchool’s own research cluster on management and organisation as well as technology analysis and engineering, integration of partner companies from the work-study programme into R&D projects, participation of students in R&D projects, e.g. in specific labs, exchange in theatre organisation research with the Institute of Theatre Education as well as other faculties and via inter-university partnerships, integration of research findings into teaching, international exchange through research partnerships in the German-Dutch border region.

Support for foundersThe Career Centre set up by the university can be consulted on entrepreneurship by students from all over the university and can assist with all types of questions. Entrepreneurship theory is taught in modules on corporate management and business plan development. The university maintains an advisory programme for career development and advising on paths leading to independence.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThe Osnabrück University ensures through its Equality Office and representative for students with severe disabilities the availability of specific services, guidelines and contact information for assistance. The study and exam regulations of the Faculty provide for equalisation of disadvantages for students with health issues. The university is certified as a family-friendly university. The school operates a HealthCampus with the University of Osnabrück.
Characteristics of diversity advancementA module on managing diversity has been integrated into the curriculum (“Cross-Cultural Management”). Furthermore, there are courses at the start of the studies with respect to communication in the management of diversity. The school has a lab for gender and diversity research, which incorporates these aspects in the teaching, excursions and projects as well as develops empirical and qualitative studies. Students can report their participation in this lab or write their final thesis there.
Other special featuresIndependent formation of study groups among students is supported, own learning rooms for students, modern campus (open October 2012) with student building, own cafeteria, library and direct access to main train station, modern student housing directly on campus, numerous sports and language programmes, orientation towards the needs of students on dual degree courses, numerous options for individual training and continuing education via the LearningCenter, psychosocial counselling centre, specialist training to deal with exam worries.
