  • Special features regarding teaching
    Very broad range of modules and elective modules with 7 specialisations, systematic linking of theory and practice in the cooperation companies, systematic introduction to scientific work, bridging courses, tutorials, language programmes and learning training in cooperation with the LearningCentre, interdisciplinary project work (project study) and applied science labs direct practical relevance, integrated concepts for step-by-step competence development, intensive support and responsiveness by academic teaching staff, cross-semester evaluation
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Students are prepared for working in an international environment (e.g. international personnel management, marketing, taxation, cross-cultural management) through internationally oriented modules. Two modules are offered as an international Summer University (elective modules) together with international incoming students. One summer school takes place abroad with a partner university in South Africa. In addition, language training in English (firmly integrated in the timetable) and other foreign language courses are offered every semester.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    17 laboratories for the area of Business Administration, Information Technology & Engineering, 9 PC pools with standard software and special software, laptops for mobile use; software equipment for R&D: CAD & simulation software and project management software, programming, database search and WiFi access in all rooms of Hochschule Osnabrück (Eduroam), smartboards and classroom response systems, e-learning platform for supervision and information supply to the students in the practical phase and for individual feedback on practical transfer projects, VPN Client for remote access literature.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    Own research cluster on Leadership & Organisation and Technology Analysis & Engineering, integration of partner companies from the dual study program in R&D projects, participation of students in R&D projects, participation of students in international R&D projects together with foreign partner universities, international exchange through research cooperation, especially in the German-Dutch border region; integration into university-wide and cross-faculty projects, integration of research knowledge into teaching.
  • Support for founders
    The Career Centre set up by the university can be consulted on entrepreneurship by students from all over the university and can assist with all types of questions. Entrepreneurship theory is taught in modules on corporate management and business plan development. The university maintains an advisory programme for career development and advising on paths leading to independence. A co-working space for the establishment of a company in the immediate vicinity of the campus is under construction.
  • Other special features
    Independent formation of study groups among students is supported, own learning rooms for students, modern campus (open October 2012) with student building, own cafeteria, library and direct access to main train station, modern student housing directly on campus, numerous sports and language programmes, orientation towards the needs of students on dual degree courses, numerous options for individual training and continuing education via the LearningCenter, psychosocial counselling centre, specialist training to deal with exam worries.
