In Tübingen, not only the ‘major’ Romance languages and literature are researched and taught, but also languages and literatures with smaller numbers of speakers. The comparison between the Romance languages and with Latin is not only essential in linguistics; a comparative and interdisciplinary approach is also an integral part of Literature and Cultural Studies and is particularly anchored in degree programmes towards the M.A. Importance is attached to a link between historical and systematic perspectives.
