    Bachelor's; Teaching Qualification for Grammar and Secondary Schools, Master's; Training in linguistics, literature studies and (as an equivalent element) cultural studies, in the languages French, Italian, Spanish; 1-year additional training (e.g. Catalan, Romanian) possible; Distinct international orientation: Four double diploma degrees with interdisciplinary teaching components and vocational mandatory elective subjects (intercultural competence, cultural management); Partner universities in Clermont-Ferrand, Nice, Madrid, Trieste and Ferrara; Integrated (elective) compulsory practicals.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    International Bachelor's degrees and Master's degrees with double diploma (in cooperation with the universities Clermont Auvergne, Nice, Trieste, Madrid, Ferrara), with a focus on cultural studies; Including interdisciplinary elements from the subjects of economics, law, politics, history. One (or two in DSS) year(s) are spent abroad (funded by DFH, DAAD or Erasmus). There is a tri-national Master's degree option: Three semesters are spent in two different partner countries, triple diploma.

    The Institute of Romance Studies' interdisciplinary research centre Spain - Centro de Estudios Hispánicos - organises events on contemporary Spanish culture, and its projects, conferences and publications contribute to the international and interdisciplinary research dialogue on Spanish culture. The launch of an electronic journal is planned for 2019. The Institute of Romance Studies had a leading role in the set-up of the university-wide research centre CITAS - Center for International and Transnational Area Studies.
