Special features regarding teachingThe Romance Studies department in Bonn is characterised by innovative research-related teaching. The course contents reflect current research; In addition, a high percentage of classes are taught in foreign languages, in particular by nine native speaker instructors in Language Practice and Cultural Studies. The numerous int. contacts make it possible to have regular guest lecturers and gain new perspectives. In addition, modular lecture series are offered together with the Institut français Bonn (IFB) and the Istituto italiano di Cultura Cologne (IIC).
Special features regarding the international orientationA special feature of Romance Studies in Bonn are the international B.A. and M.A. courses with prestigious universities in France (Sorbonne Université), Italy (Florence) and Spain (León). It also cooperates with many partner universities under the Erasmus programme. The Romance Studies department also sets itself apart with international research partnership and graduate schools (trinational graduate school "Europäische Gründungsmythen" (European Foundation Myths), doctoral school in "Italianistica" of the universities of Bonn-Florence-Paris) as well as many (inter)national research projects.
