    Romance Studies in Trier comprises 3 Romance philologies (French, Italian, Spanish) and is distinguished, among other things, by its teaching excellence in the specialist disciplines and language practice, by its thematically broad and non-university courses, by the research-based consideration of Romance-speaking cultural areas throughout the world and by the high degree of internationalisation as part if university partnerships and exchange relationships with universities in Europe, Canada and Hispanic America.

    The international orientation of Romance Studies at the University of Trier is characterised in particular by its teaching of and research into the Romance-speaking cultural areas throughout the world, the high degree of internationalisation through university partnerships and exchange relationships with universities in Europe (especially France, Spain, Italy), Canada and Hispanic America (mainly Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia) and networking with the "Universität der Großregion" (Université de Liège, Université de Lorraine (Metz & Nancy) and Université du Luxembourg).
