Special features regarding teachingThe Civil Engineering degree courses at Universität Siegen offer a large breadth of subject matter. An individual specialisation allows for custom profile building. The course is characterised by a relation to practice, which can be seen in particular in seminars and coursework.

Special features regarding research activitiesThe latest academic research on the particular construction technique and/or planning and calculation method is reflected in standards and guidelines. Many professors are represented in relevant committees. These memberships are a good indicator for the broad recognition of the academic achievements of the respective lecturers and the department. Various chairs are involved in the "Shaping the future" Research Centre of Universität Siegen. Interdisciplinary research work is conducted here in the focus area of "Civil Security".
