Special features regarding teachingThe combination of R&D & teaching at the FHWN is seen as a success factor for the further development of the higher education institution and its courses of study as well as a quality feature for academic teaching at a high level. Courses that can be allocated to a research focus in terms of discipline are led by the full-time staff who are carrying out research in this area. This ensures the transfer of R&D in the teaching and vice versa as well as the involvement of full-time teaching and research personnel in application-oriented R&D work.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationThe courses of study in "Health and Nursing Care" as well as "General Health and Nursing Care" can make use of all of the structures at the FHWN as well as the existing university and non-university partner networks for international cooperations, with the use of defined quality criteria. The FHWN has a strong and high-quality network of around 60 partner universities, which can be used for mobility activities amongst the teaching staff, researchers and students or for joint R&D activities.
-
Special features regarding the equipmentAt the entire university of applied sciences (all sites), a wide range of labs, workshops and functional rooms (Health Labs) with special facilities for training and R&D activities are available to the full-time teaching staff, research staff and the students. The course "General Health and Nursing Care" can also use the resources of the ZETT (simulation station at the Wiener Neustadt state clinic).
-
Special features regarding research and developmentOne project deals with the distribution of qualifications in cooperation with the Lower Austrian Landesklinikenholding. Another project in cooperation with the Landesklinikum Wiener Neustadt: As part of their bachelor's thesis, students develop questions from nursing practice, communicate the results with practitioners and prepare fact sheets on the researched questions. The results will then be presented at a training event for the hospital's nursing staff.
