Special features regarding teaching8 professorships and the respective departments cover the main basic subjects and a number of different areas of application. Special features of teaching: Focus on pedagogical psychology & legal psychology (with the respective professorships and key areas in the curriculum). The curriculum also includes health psychology. University outpatient clinic for research and teaching in the area of children and adolescents (Child at the Centre, KiM) and in the area of adults; Here, students are able to gain experience early on in diagnostics, psychoeducation and group procedures.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe institute members have numerous international research partnerships & are members of various international research projects such as with colleagues from India, Malaysia, Utrecht, the UK, China or Russia. Many of them have spent periods doing research abroad or invited international guests to Hildesheim. They usually give talk at Uni HI & are integrated into course modules. The members of the institute contribute to many international conferences. In 2015, a major international conference was held at Uni HI.
