Special features regarding the equipmentThe faculties of "Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics" and "Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Media Engineering" are each responsible for 50% of teaching in the Mechatronics degree course (Bachelor's). As a result, all laboratories of these two faculties can be used for training. Laboratory topics include production and automation technology, computer tomography, electronics, software, acoustics, materials and material testing, energy technology, robotics, autonomous vehicles etc. as well as project areas for students.

Special features regarding research and developmentStudents of the degree course in Mechatronics can be involved in research projects/third-party-funded projects both as part of work placements/project work/Bachelor's theses or through cooperation with local industry. Possibility to be part of the Formula-Student team.

Support for foundersFaculty professors are active in the ITC1 start-up centre, a number of schemes including the Silicon Valley programme support spin-offs.
