Special features regarding teachingTeaching: "Automation": Construction and design of (packaging) machines, electrical machine construction: Important topic for the "region of the world market leaders"!, teaching contents are coordinated with regional industry, small groups, good tutor-student ratio, good laboratory equipment; Practical relevance and career prospects: Close links with regional industry, more than 90 % of graduates get a job immediately after graduating, good range of offers for interns and working students, can be taken as a cooperative degree model (KOOP) or in-depth practical model (SVP)

Special features regarding the equipmentThe Würth Foundation has so far financed the laboratory equipment with grants worth approx. € 100.000 . Laboratory equipment and measuring instruments that significantly increase the quality of teaching have been procured. The laboratory equipment is unique in the teaching of electrical machines and electromagnetism.

Special features regarding research and developmentClose cooperation with regional industry via the Institute for Fast Mechatronic Systems (ISM) which has resulted in more than 10 patent applications, of which 5 have so far been granted and further patents have already been sold. The ISM currently employs two PhD students in cooperation with the Technical University of Ilmenau.
