Special features regarding teachingIn teaching, the use of innovative, application-oriented teaching and learning forms such as role plays, case studies, simulations or blended learning elements is promoted. The special feature of the department is the project relevance of the degree programs. Teams of full-time and part-time teachers work in developing the teaching concepts and imparting knowledge. It is ensured that the spectra of the professional fields or different industries are represented and that there is a positive student orientation.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe department includes, among other things, numerous courses of study that are carried out entirely in English; learning foreign languages is also made possible. Internships abroad are partly integrated into the course of study and semesters abroad (2 with double degrees) at one of 140+ partner universities are made possible. The student body at the university of applied sciences is international, the course content is designed to deal with international problems throughout. The acquisition of skills in the field of intercultural competences and diversity management is supported intensively on a curricular basis.

Special features regarding the equipmentIn addition to the campus library, the e-library offers a collection of databases (journals, cases, data collections) that can also be accessed externally. Software for data analysis is partly free of charge / partly available with student licenses. There are also a variety of applications in the PC Labs (e.g.: Office 365, SPSS or SAP) installed. Software for data collection (such as Unipark / Limesurvey) is available free of charge. Technical devices can be borrowed if required. Materials for building prototypes are also available.

Special features regarding research and developmentIn addition to international topics, research projects in the field of digitalisation of companies and sustainability projects play a special role. Students also have the opportunity to contribute their own topics and to participate in research projects. Research focuses: Consumer Studies and Innovation Management, Tourism Marketing and Technology, Health Management and Policy, Regional Economics and Agrobusiness, Digital Transformation and Organisational Development, Innovative Teaching Methodology for Business Education

Support for foundersStudents are offered curricular courses (for example: Business models and business plan development, entrepreneurship and starting a company) as well as offers such as the Founders Lab or the co-working space of the IMC FH Krems support in developing business models and companies. A Start-up service (Accent) and graduates with Start-up experience are also invited, who report on support and funding opportunities as well as their own experiences. Networking is made possible by round tables and company visits as well as lectures.
