  • Special features regarding teaching
    Lecturer from fields of science and business; practical relevance (specific problems from companies and practical research and development projects); limited number of places guarantee excellent study conditions. Focus on ongoing improvement of the quality of lecturers and the environment (organisation, facilities etc.). Courses are rated in an online evaluation at the end of the semester. Other quality assurance tools: Feedback discussion as well as the constant dialogue with teachers and staff of the course.

    International mobility phases (semester abroad, internships abroad, short programs abroad); 220 partner universities; MCI students from 51 nations; support from the International Relations Office in preparation and processing (information events, clarification of compatibility, etc.); participation in (inter-) national educational programs, university networks and scholarship programs (ERASMUS plus, Marshallplan Foundation Scholarships, Fulbright, etc.); ECTS and Diploma Supplement Label; AACSB-accredited as the second university in Austria.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    All seminar rooms and computer rooms have high-quality equipment which can be added to if required. Many student workstations offer ideal learning conditions. In addition, there are reference libraries with specialist literature and computers, copiers, printers and scanners. Access to selected scientific databases (Emerald Insight, MarketLine, ScienceDirect, RDB, WISO) is possible on all PCs and wireless eduroam® as well as remotely (via Shibboleth). All MCI members also have free access to the University and Provincial Library of Tyrol (ULB).

    Research & development activities are business-oriented, application & solution-oriented. Regular publications, conference contributions & more Research projects are the basis for sustainable skills development & knowledge / technology transfer in teaching and entrepreneurial practice. Content specialisation: Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Marketing / Digital Transformation / Innovation in Social & Health Care / Tourism / Ethics, Law & Information Society / Family Business. Research specialisations build on core competencies of MCI, industrial & scientific needs, as well as regional / national / international funding priorities.
  • Support for founders
    The MCI attaches great importance to promoting Start-ups and entrepreneurship activities by faculty and students. The R&D department provides support during business planning, information on Start-ups, generally on entrepreneurship and the commercial use of R&D results. With Start.up.Tirol GmbH, the MCI maintains a Start-up centre for faculty, students and graduates with innovative business ideas. The GmbH is an initiative supported by the federal government of Uni & Med Uni Innsbruck, the location agency Tirol & MCI.
