Special features regarding teachingIn the practice-integrated course, students are employed throughout the study period by a company. As a result, they grow into the company from the start and can combine academic training with professional practice. The goal is to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in practice and vice versa. The company portal on the website of the Fachhochschule Bielefeld gives an overview of the cooperating companies and available practical places: www.fh-bielefeld.de/technik/unternehmensportal
Special features regarding the international orientationAt the Minden Campus, there are regular informational events for students about "Work placements and studies abroad" by the Foreign Students Office. The International Office in Bielefeld is open to all students for guidance on short visits, work placements and foreign programmes. Information is provided online at: http://www.fh-bielefeld.de/internationales Furthermore, a number of practice-integrated companies offer periods abroad during the practical phases.
Special features regarding the equipmentThe Minden Campus has modern laboratory workstations in the new building with measuring equipment typical for a current workstation. To enable them to build circuits and circuit boards themselves, students have access to a complete professional system with circuit board milling machine, placement machine and soldering device. The devices are maintained and operated by students and supported by employees of the Electrical Engineering course. There is also a modern EMC laboratory with absorber chamber. The new building is used for research.
Special features regarding research and developmentThe Minden Campus department is mainly involved in application-oriented research and development. The research work is generally carried out with practical relevance with partners such as companies, associations, clubs or public institutions. The aim is to generate research results that support the innovation activities of the partners and that can be transferred to application in the short term. Through close contact to industry partners, the academics gain current knowledge from corporate practice.
Other special featuresThe practice-integrated courses are designed for small groups, thereby guaranteeing an excellent teacher-student ratio. Our students value the small size of the green campus, the personal atmosphere and the individual guidance offered by professors, assistant professors and staff. The Campus Minden department offers excellently equipped laboratories and modern, well-equipped rooms with modern IT in a fully renovated artillery barracks.
