Special features regarding teachingBalance between sound theory and practice; mandatory company internship in the Bachelor with 10 weeks, supervised and quality assured; more than 35 partner companies; internal internships / projects, constant feedback; freedom of choice already in the Bachelor's degree (not a "schooled degree"); great freedom of choice in the Master; small groups, good care ratio; direct contact with teachers and professors e.g. with individual study plan advice.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe Faculty has implemented a new programme with the international Master option “Data Analytics”. It is held entirely in English and is aimed primarily at international students worldwide. In Business Computer Science (M.Sc.: students can take courses on Business Intelligence, Big Data, AI, etc. in cooperation with “Data Analytics” in the specialisation and elective area. This alone allows a large part of the course to be studied with an international focus. Further courses may be offered in English if necessary.

Special features regarding the equipmentExcellent centralised and decentralised infrastructure (fibre optic network, campus-wide WiFi, GroupWare), IT teaching (LearnWeb, forums), 181 computer workstations available for students (Windows or Windows/Unix). Computer pools can be used at any time, 24 hours a day; multimedia rooms, video conference rooms, media library in the central library; media laboratory especially for the use of mobile computers, innovation lab for prototyping, cooperation with SAP competence centre.

Special features regarding research activitiesDemand-oriented coordination of hybrid value-added networks, designing sustainable business processes, linking company modelling and sustainability, process management for product service systems, development of research portals, methods for project planning and control, integrated implementation of production and logistics planning, application of heuristic processes and simulation

Support for foundersOrientation start-up week (in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week); acquisition of an additional certificate "organisational design, innovation and foundation"; relevant courses already as part of the Business Informatics courses: “Design Thinking” practical, “Corporate Decision-Making and Entrepreneurship”, “Corporate Simulation”, “Company Management”, specialisation option “Service Management and Innovation”. Own innovation lab for prototyping and own internet portal for design thinking; complementary events e.g. Hackathons together with companies and innovation incubators.

Other special featuresMore than 35 partner companies with intensive exchange between business and science - for teaching and research; study projects / internships and a large part of the Bachelor and Master theses are carried out in industrial cooperation; student involvement throughout the department: regular feedback rounds and discussions; opportunity to stay abroad, within Europe (ERASMUS) and outside; university-wide special features: family-friendly university, extra-curricular studies, foundation university with several sponsorship programmes (including the "Germany Grant).
