Special features regarding the equipmentAll seminar rooms and computer rooms have high-quality equipment which can be added to if required. Many student workstations offer ideal learning conditions. Reference libraries with specialist literature, PCs, book scanners as well as copiers and printers are maintained. For online teaching, the web-based communication tool Adobe Connect and the learning management system Sakai are available. Access to selected scientific databases (EBSCO, Emerald, MarketLine, ScienceDirect, Springer, Statista, RDB, WISO) via all PCs and WiFi eduroam® as well as via remote access.

Special features regarding research and developmentThe research and development activities at the MCI are commercially exploitable, application- and solution-oriented. The inter-disciplinary character of our degree courses is also reflected in the R&D activities of the course. Regular publications, conference papers and multi-year research projects provide an ideal basis for sustainable competence building as well as knowledge and technology transfer in teaching and business practice. The content focuses on the areas of non-profit, social and health management as well as innovations in the social and health area.

Support for foundersMCI attaches great importance to the promotion of business start-ups and entrepreneurship activities of its faculty and its students: A service unit provides initial information on business Start-ups, entrepreneurship and the commercial use of R&D results. In addition, the MCI maintains a Start-up centre for faculty, students and graduates with innovative business ideas in the form of CAST GmbH CAST GmbH is an initiative of the University of Innsbruck, the Medical University of Innsbruck, the business promotion agency of Tyrol and MCI, which is supported by the federal government.

Other special featuresAn Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree was developed in the department with Erasmus University Rotterdam, the University of Bologna, and the University of Oslo. The department has founded a research centre for innovations in social and health care and offers students the opportunity to be involved in research projects.
