  • Special features regarding teaching
    Very broadly based course modules and choice of optional modules with different areas of specialisation, systematic integration of theory and practice in the cooperating companies, many link programmes, tutorials and peer learning offerings, language programme and training in cooperation with the LearningCenter, inter-disciplinary projects (project work) and Applied Science labs with direct relevance to practice, integrated concepts for incremental skills development, intensive supervision by academic staff offering a high level of availability (including in the practical phases), cross-semester evaluation.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Students are prepared for working in an international environment (e.g. international personnel management, marketing, taxation, cross-cultural management) through internationally oriented modules. Two modules are offered as an international Summer University (elective modules) together with international incoming students. One summer school takes place abroad with a partner university in South Africa. In addition, language training in English (firmly integrated in the timetable) and other foreign language courses are offered every semester.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    17 laboratories for the area of Business Administration, Information Technology & Engineering, 9 PC pools with standard software and special software, laptops for mobile use; software equipment for R&D: CAD & simulation software and project management software, programming, database search and WiFi access in all rooms of Hochschule Osnabrück (Eduroam), smartboards and classroom response systems, e-learning platform for supervision and information supply to the students in the practical phase and for individual feedback on practical transfer projects, VPN Client for remote access literature.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    Own research cluster on leadership & organisation and technology analysis & engineering, integration of partner companies from the dual study in R&D projects, participation of students in R&D projects, e.g. in specialist laboratories, exchange in research with other faculties as well as in cross-university cooperation, integration of research knowledge into teaching, international exchange through research cooperation in the German-Dutch border region: for example digitization in production technology or plastics technology.
  • Support for founders
    The Career Centre set up by the university can be consulted on entrepreneurship by students from all over the university and can assist with all types of questions. Entrepreneurship theory is taught in modules on corporate management and business plan development. The university maintains an advisory programme for career development and advising on paths leading to independence. A co-working space for the establishment of a company in the immediate vicinity of the campus is under construction.
  • Other special features
    Independent formation of learning groups among students is supported; personal study rooms especially for students; orientation of tutorials to the needs of dual students; numerous offers for individual training and further education via the LearningCentre; psychosocial counselling centre; special training on exam fears, modern campus (opening October 2012) with student building, cafeteria, library and direct access to the main train station, modern student dormitories directly on campus, numerous sports and language programs.
