Special features regarding teachingJoint kick-off weekend at the beginning of the course to get to know each other; very practical teaching through a high proportion of industry-experienced teachers; diverse project tasks from practice-related questions; networking of teaching content through interdisciplinary tasks; implementation of business games and software-based simulations in production planning and logistics; digital support of the courses through learning platforms, e-books, software and videos; small group sizes in care-intensive subject areas, e.g. laboratories, mathematics, IT etc.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe programme "Industrial Engineering" has at its disposal all structures of the International Office available at the FHWN, as well as the existing academic and non-university partner network for international collaborations. In the Bachelor's programme from the 3rd academic year, in the Master's from the 2nd academic year, students can take a semester abroad. Students are also assisted in their search for work placements abroad as best as possible.

Special features regarding research and developmentWe drive and support application-oriented research projects in the field of Industrial Management to support our industrial partners in the implementation of sustainability in industrial production and logistics. Our focus is on the development of data-based planning, information and assistance systems and methods, in the area of sustainable and intelligent production and logistics management as well as energy and resource efficiency, in the area of sustainability and environmental management and reporting, as well as life cycle assessment.

Support for foundersThe FHWN operates the Competence Centre for Entrepreneurship & Leadership, which plays an advisory and supportive role in business start-ups. The programme also participates in this competence centre and supports its students in planned start-ups. In addition, the Master's programme offers the Business Plan Challenge module, which is to teach students how to prepare a business plan.

Other special featuresWING Friday (weekly network meeting of the entire course with presentations, guest lectures and events organised by the students). The course can be completed full-time or career-integrated (Tue 17-22h, Fri 16-22h, Sat all day).
