Special features regarding teachingThe dual (work-study) course communicates the basics of business administration, social sciences, mathematics and technology, such as programming, software engineering, data analysis, web technologies, business process/data/project management over a period of six semesters – all skills that qualify for an attractive labour market. The aim is to give students a broad-based education in order to promote interface skills in particular. By taking compulsory elective modules, students have the opportunity to set specialisations, such as in the area of Marketing or Company Start-Up.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationApart from the option to acquire skills through modules abroad – e.g. in Ireland, Turkey or even China – the vocational academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Business Academy also participates in ERASMUS programmes and has been awarded the “ERASMUS Charter of Higher Education” (ECHE). The compulsory module “English” must be taken in each programme. Students can also take an exam and obtain the internationally recognised language certificate of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
-
Support for foundersA separate compulsory elective module on entrepreneurship is offered.
-
Other special featuresParallel completion of a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) vocational certificate: the study agreement between the student and the cooperating company is simultaneously entered into the directory of apprenticeships, and a Chamber exam is taken. It is also possible to participate in seminars and thus acquire further skills. For example, preparatory and/or accompanying courses are available in mathematics, accounting and programming, professional behaviour and project management.
