  • Special features regarding teaching
The nursing management course does not have an explicitly international focus. However, international aspects of teaching and research are taken into consideration where appropriate. Teaching materials are regularly revised to take international research aspects into account. International issues such as health system comparison and their effects are part of the nursing science modules in particular, but also of the economics and public health courses.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
Learning and communication platform; Reference library; Seminar & group work rooms are wheelchair accessible; WIFI; Databases: EBSCO, SpringerLink (journals: Bundesgesundheitsblatt, Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung, Sportwissenschaft, Zeitschrift für Gerontologie + Geriatrie, Controlling & Management Review; E-book packages: Medicine, economics, psychology, social sciences and law, English medicine); MS Office packages; MS learning software; Adobe Connect
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
Students with disabilities can apply for reasonable adjustments. All the university rooms are accessible; a wheelchair-accessible toilet is provided for students with disabilities.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
Aspects of diversity are not addressed explicitly, as the Care Management degree programme is a gender-neutral discipline. They are reflected formally (e.g. personal address in the learning materials) and in substance (presenting selected results separated according to gender). In addition, non-semester-specific courses and examination availability ideally account for diversity in terms of students’ personal organisation of their studies.
  • Other special features
Since its inception in 2005, APOLLON has been a highly flexible university specialising in the healthcare industry, which is not tied to the semester-based structure and employs a large number of practitioners as external teachers. Outstanding study papers can be published by the in-house University Press publishing house. The university has been awarded the family-friendly seal.
