Special features regarding teachingInternational visiting academics complete work placements or stays for project work, participate in courses and offer the students the possibility of insight into ongoing and completed projects. The lecturers of the faculty themselves are partly involved in international projects and operate in international working groups. The "German Centre for of Evidence-based Nursing" at the institute (IGPW) is embedded in the global network of EBN centres. Through existing cooperations, there are opportunities for work placements and the design of student theses.

Special features regarding the equipmentOur on-site skills lab offers the option to experience and practice care situations (in particular the advising of patients) in role play or with actors pretending to be patients. A PC room with 20 stations is available at the location of the Institute for Health and Care Management, both for the teaching as well as for the free use by students.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsStudents with permanent disabilities will receive on request, both time extensions when obtaining credits (exams) as well as in the standard period of study (reduction in the long-term course fees). Module credits can be completed by means of technical support. A weekly consultation hour for students with disabilities, chronic or mental illnesses is available across the university.

Other special featuresThe degree course is accredited. Working professionals with an examination in care may be placed in a higher subject-related semester of the Bachelor's degree course via "lateral entry". In addition to the regular semester contribution, no additional tuition fees will be charged. For working professionals who have no qualification for admission to higher education (Abitur) there is the possibility of taking an assessment test (to determine the eligibility to study).
