Special features regarding teachingThe lecturers have proven subject-specific expertise and are qualified for university teaching through continuous further training and attendance at the university teaching training offered annually by the faculty. They convey the most current knowledge in alignment with the practices of clinical work, invite reflection on them, and allow students to participate in current research developments. The teaching is evaluated in regular teaching conferences of the institute and the feedback of the students is taken into account in the design of the teaching.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationInternational visiting academics complete work placements or stays for project work, participate in courses and offer the students the possibility of insight into ongoing and completed projects. The lecturers of the faculty themselves are partly involved in international projects and operate in international working groups. The "German Centre for of Evidence-based Nursing" at the institute (IGPW) is embedded in the global network of EBN centres. Through existing cooperations, there are opportunities for work placements and the design of student theses.

Special features regarding research and developmentThe focus of research at the institute and the faculty – which maintains its own research focus on "Epidemiology and Care Research" – is evidential basis, as well as the inter-disciplinary work of the healthcare professions. In the process, the aim is for diversity of methods so that various research skills at the Institute are bundled from intervention studies in the field of nursing, treatment and midwifery to systematic reviews to text/video-based qualitative analytical procedures. These can then be passed on to the students in courses.
-
Other special featuresThe M.Sc. is interprofessionally oriented and unites students of nursing, therapy and midwifery as well as diagnostic professions, who jointly implement interprofessional case management and research projects during their studies.
