    Active support of stays abroad by the dean of studies, course directors and the International Office. 171 partner universities worldwide. Help looking for positions for work placements in companies around the world.   • Special features regarding the equipment
    Students have access to the laboratories of the research groups Optical Engineering, Mechatronics, Optoelectronics and Sensory Analysis as well as to the teaching laboratories of the department with a computer room for simulation and exercises. The research laboratories are equipped with the latest machines and systems for manufacturing and process development in the fields of Mechatronics, Robotics, Signal Processing in Measurement Technology and Glass Machining and Glass Working. A significant number of subject-specific databases are available (e.g. Web of Science, Sciencedirect, Perinorm, SPIE Digital Library, IEEE Xplore, etc.).
  • Special features regarding research and development
    In addition to the research and teaching laboratories, external offices are affiliated with the department in the form of technology transfer centres. There are external offices in Cham (automation engineering, robotics), Spiegelau (glass melting technology, measurement technology, analysis), Teisnach (optics manufacturing, measurement technology, high frequency technology) and Weißenburg (plastics engineering). Students have the opportunity to actively cooperate in research projects in the form of work placements, final theses or coursework on these topics.
  • Other special features
    With the initiative "Healthy University Deggendorf", the university is implementing a comprehensive concept for health promotion in the setting of a university. To facilitate students' transition to the professional world, the university's Career Service offers application advice and seminars. A first-semester mentoring programme provides initial orientation assistance and facilitates the transition from school to university. For personal or academic problems, there is free and anonymous psychosocial and social counselling available.
