Special features regarding teachingDue to its size, teaching in our field is characterised by individual support and intensive interaction between students and lecturers. The practical orientation of the individual courses, integrated practical projects and a work placement all create a high degree of practical relevance, which in turn enables graduates to get onto the career ladder. The integration of current topics (e.g. cloud computing or mobile systems) supplements the range of courses and communicates up-to-date knowledge.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationThe FH Kufstein in Tyrol sees itself as "The International University of Applied Sciences". Common aspects for all courses are the integration of foreign languages in the curriculum, a significant proportion of English-language specialist courses, at least one compulsory semester abroad (in the full-time Bachelor's programmes) and a study trip (for career-integrated Bachelor's and Master's programmes). For incoming students from 176 partner universities around the world, the FH Kufstein Tyrol offers a special study programme, the "International Programme".

The department has its own protected Internet access, so that these services can also be made available externally, facilitating cooperation with external partners. The laboratory is supplemented by mobile development workstations for Android and iOS systems.
-
Special features regarding research and developmentThe focus on research and development is in the field of Applied Research. There are various subject areas, generally a direct relation to the web. Relevant areas of research currently include the field of IT-Supported Knowledge Management, Multimedia Web Applications, Innovation Management, Enterprise Content Management and flexible forms of process support for poorly structured processes, as well as simulation environments. The R&D projects are supported by the EU or national and regional sponsors.
-
Other special features"Kubi" - the Kufstein Library for Science and Leisure - was created at the end of 2019 from a merger of the city library Kufstein with the library of the Univeristy of Applied Sciences FH Kufstein Tirol. Fiction, children's and youth literature as well as scientific literature can thus all be found under one roof. The concept provides quiet and communication zones and, for example, enables students to work with literature and children in a concentrated way to playfully introduce the world of books into their own children's area.
