Special features regarding teachingParticular attention is paid to the practical orientation of the courses taught. These involve simulation games and case studies. Students get to work on several projects at companies. It is thanks to extensive research that future-oriented topics are always integrated into the courses. Teaching is supported by an e-learning platform where documents and study questions are made available centrally and where discussion forums, etc. can be set up. The SCM Master's programme uses the KEU teaching method, developed in-house, which has been customised for this programme.

Special features regarding the international orientationEach student completes a semester abroad in a non-German-speaking country at one of the numerous partner universities. This location owes its international ambience to a large number of international (incoming) students. A dedicated international office supports incoming and outgoing students in their international activities. There is also a teaching staff mobility programme. International visiting professors, an international week and international cooperation with a variety of research projects highlight the international orientation of this department.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe campus has modern equipment in all rooms incl. several computer rooms. There are also lounges with state-of-the-art technical equipment. Numerous software packages relative to logistics are available to students (e.g. ERP, GPM, route planning, data visualisation). The Logistics Technology Centre offers models and simulation tools for Logistics issues. The library is connected to a large number of online libraries, in addition to its physical inventory.

Special features regarding research and developmentLargest research institute for logistics and supply chain management in Austria; 18 full-time professors, 45 scientific employees, 445 publications, 2.8 million-euro research budget (in 2018); large proportion of applied research with companies; integration of current research findings into education, including scientific findings, case studies, papers. Opportunities for participation in research, for example through student projects, part-time employment, dissertation assistance.

Other special featuresThe Logistikum is one of the three leading / formative institutions worldwide on the subject of Physical Internet (Canada, France, Steyr). Participation in European initiatives for the establishment of Physical Internet. Intensive networking and partly personal union with the VNL, Association for Network Logistics, an association of 500 companies active in the field of logistics. Many start-ups among graduates, for example, Runtastic, Economix, Webdots.
