    As a subject area, we want both the content and methods to carefully and consistently explore new paths, and we train young researchers to coordinate management tasks within commercial enterprises and relevant areas of Public Administration concerned with construction, real estate and infrastructure.

    Our special strong point is our continuously growing international network of research and industry partners from various stakeholder groups in construction, real estate and infrastructure sectors, where we participate in line with our objectives just as consistently as we utilise it for our transdisciplinary work.

    Our sphere of activity comprises the company as well as the different fields of activity within the value-chain matrix of buildings and structural facilities with their three dimensions: Type/intended use (property, infrastructure), life cycle (planning, construction, finance, investment, acceptance, operation), tasks within the various life cycle phases. As a research institution, we predominantly aim to initiate orders and are concerned with including demand-oriented, applied research within the scope of our overall strategy.

    A particular strength of ours is our continuously growing network, consisting of: Science partners at the Bauhaus-University Weimar as well as at other universities and research institutions in Germany and abroad; representatives of the various "stakeholder" groups in the construction, real estate and infrastructure industries, to which we contribute consistently in line with our objectives as we use it for our interdisciplinary work.
