  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    The Hamm-Lippstadt University has partnerships around the world and participates in exchange programmes in connection with Erasmus and summer schools at various universities. Most of the programmes require a semester or work placement abroad in the 5th semester (without extending the regular study period), while the other programmes allow for an optional semester abroad; some courses are offered in English.

    New building with new, modern and contemporary facilities. The Hamm campus has a clean room, an S2 laboratory, a Campus Marketing lab and an open prototyping laboratory, among other facilities.

    The special feature of all research projects at the Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt is the interdisciplinary approach thanks to its structural organisation with four interdisciplinary departments. Consequently, the rooms and laboratories are not assigned to people, departments or faculties, but to fields of activity.   • Support for founders
    The university offers the Master’s programme “Technical Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, which of special interest to prospective entrepreneurs. An Entrepreneurs’ Club in Hamm aims to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit of students and initiate a start-up culture at the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences.
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
    The HSHL has a new building and provides barrier-free access in many ways: Lifts, automatic doors with buttons accessible for wheelchair users, disabled toilets, stairs are equipped with tactile devices and markings ahead of the staircase, the campus has marked paths, individual laboratory adjustments. A representative for students with disabilities or chronic illness looks after these students’ individual requirements and provides support.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
    The Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt has a structure that promotes the diversity of its members with four interdisciplinary departments. The Engineering degree courses of the HSHL have overall an above-average proportion of women; many students have a migration background; the diversity of the HSHL is also experienced and practised among the students in their everyday lives.

    We are still a young university with excellent equipment and state-of-the-art facilities (lecture halls and labs) and numerous study areas (for group or single work) in the new buildings which we moved into in 2014 on our double campus in Hamm and Lippstadt. We offer market-oriented and practice-related courses, openness, tolerance, team orientation and high demands from the start. Existing partnerships offer many possibilities for innovation.
