    International mobility phases (not compulsory); work placements; short programmes abroad; 220 partner universities, MCI students from 51 countries, support through the International Relations Office for preparation and completion (information events, evaluation of compatibility, etc.); participation in (inter)national education programmes, university networks and grant programmes (ERASMUS plus, Marshall Plan Foundation Scholarships, Fulbright, etc.); ECTS and Diploma Supplement Label; second Austrian university to be accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    All seminar rooms and computer rooms have high-quality equipment which can be added to if required. Many student workstations offer ideal learning conditions. In addition, there are reference libraries with specialist literature and computers, copiers, printers and scanners. For online teaching, the web-based communication tool Adobe Connect and the learning management system Sakai are available. Access to selected scientific databases (Emerald Insight, MarketLine, ScienceDirect, RDB, WISO) is possible on all PCs and wireless eduroam® as well as remotely. Free access to the University and Provincial Library.

    The research and development activities at the MCI are commercially exploitable, application- and solution-oriented. The inter-disciplinary character of the degree courses is also reflected in the R&D activities of the course. Regular publications, conference papers and multi-year research projects provide an ideal basis for sustainable competence building as well as knowledge and technology transfer in teaching and business practice. Key content areas are e-learning, corruption, business ethics & corporate governance as well as behavioural and experimental economics & finance.

  • Support for founders
    MCI attaches great importance to the promotion of business start-ups and entrepreneurship activities of its faculty and its students: A service unit provides initial information on business start-ups, entrepreneurship and commercialisation of research and development results. In addition, MCI maintains, jointly with CAST GmbH, an incubator centre for faculty, students and graduates with innovative business ideas. CAST GmbH is an initiative of the University of Innsbruck, the Medical University of Innsbruck, the business promotion agency of Tyrol and MCI, which is supported by the federal government.
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
    Students with long-term health problems are given individual support by the degree courses. For example, the needs of students with dyslexia are catered for in examinations (extension of the exam times, selection of the form of test), microphone facilities are provided for students with hearing impairments, and much more. All rooms at MCI are accessible. Disability representative as contact person for staff and students.

    Diversity includes international, intercultural, vocational and individual background, and the different target groups are analysed on an ongoing basis. Job advertisements in gender-neutral language, in English and in German, in international media. In the admission procedure, attention is paid to ensuring a diverse mix of students.
