Special features regarding teachingAll programmes are interdisciplinary in nature. Professors come from numerous different disciplines and have extensive practical experience. Practical semesters, ideally also abroad, are encouraged and integrated into the curriculum. Apart from industry-specific characteristics of the programmes, the teaching of professional key skills is an integral part of the curriculum. Individual key areas can be chosen by way of elective modules. These modules in particular are taught by many lecturers recruited from companies of the industries in question.

Special features regarding the international orientationFunded ERASMUS + partnerships also beyond Europe; intensive short exchange with US partner university through summer school programme that has been carried out annually for more than 15 years; Jean Monnet Programme with regular excursions to other EU countries; regular events to promote internationalisation on campus (e.g. “International Week”); intensive support of international topics through social media marketing; language certificate English from HS Koblenz as additional qualification; intensive / individual support for incoming / outgoing students through the area of languages / international affairs.

Special features regarding the equipmentVarious subject-specific online databases, eJournals and numerous eBooks are available free of charge. The library provides 16 PC stations for literature research. A free book scanner is also available for use. In 5 computer pools, 134 PC workstations are equipped with printers, scanners, etc. Students have free access to the campus WiFi. The department has a logistics and a video laboratory as well as two language laboratories. Numerous special programs (e.g. SAP, SPSS, simulation programs) are included in the teaching.

Special features regarding research and developmentThe Faculty focuses in particular on international research topics. The Faculty includes two institutes.

Support for foundersStart-ups are promoted explicitly through Entrepreneurship Consulting. The university has also launched an ideas competition.

Other special featuresThe degree courses are interdisciplinary in the fields of Logistics and E-business, Health and Social Management, Sports Management as well as Management, Leadership and Innovation. The transition from the Bachelor’s to the consecutive Master’s is structured in such manner that students who still lack some Bachelor’s credits can already start taking classes of the Master’s programme.
