  • Special features regarding teaching
The special feature of the department in teaching is the small seminar groups. The programme currently accepts a maximum of 15 students per semester. This enables close contact between teachers and students. This in turn has a positive effect on group work and the projects that are created. In this way, students also have the opportunity to handle high-quality technology in each case.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
    Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spanien
  • Special features regarding the equipment
The course of studies has its own video/photostudio of 130sqm of the latest video technology (state 2020) and equipment with sensor technology for motion-capturing and vulometric film; there is a VR lab with corresponding equipment (VR glasses, software and workstation).
  • Special features regarding research and development
The faculty focuses on the topic of knowledge transfer and tangible interaction as well as their prototypical realisation. User Experience Design as a central term is understood as a combination of tools, methods and frameworks with which design problems can be solved methodically - always with a focus on the users of a product or service. In this project the FHD supports the design and prototypical implementation of user interfaces in 2D as well as 3D (VR/AR).
  • Support for founders
The Department of Media Informatics supports students in setting up a business through various measures, especially in the methodical procedure in the area of Lean Startup for prototyping, in order to test relevant business ideas with as little effort as possible. In addition, the Career Service is available to students with appropriate contacts to entrepreneurs.
