  • Special features regarding teaching
Theory and practice complement each other perfectly in the computer science degree programme: Lecture phases at the university impart the necessary theoretical knowledge, which can be directly applied in the practical phases in a permanently assigned FHDW partner company. In this way, students already gain extensive professional experience during their studies and learn the necessary social skills to work in teams and fill management positions. The degree course of computer science imparts the skills to develop complex systems of software and hardware analytically, creatively and constructively.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
University of West Scotland, Paisley; University of Coventry, UK; Université de Lille, France; Western Norway University of Applied Science, Bergen, Norwegen
  • Special features regarding research and development
Research is an essential part of the mission statement and the self-image of the university and determines the content of the courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes. Research projects are carried out in cooperation with national and international partner universities (e.g. HVL Bergen, Norway). Research topics are current trend topics of digitalisation, such as agile software development, business process modelling, Internet of Things and machine learning.
  • Support for founders
Support of the business administration department for graduates with questions about self-employment, business start-ups or further education.
  • Other special features
The FHDW Hannover was awarded as Germany's top university in the student portal "StudyCheck" in 2019 and 2020.
