  • Special features regarding teaching
The teaching at the DHBW and especially in the faculty of health is characterised by an excellent teaching quality. Special features are interprofessional courses together with other degree courses or the implementation of teaching-integrated research projects. Interactive elements, simulations in the Skills Lab and business games at the Centre for Management Simulation are anchored in various modules. Our students also benefit from the know-how of part-time lecturers who contribute valuable knowledge from practice during the practice-oriented theory phases.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finnland; Singidunum University, Valjevo, Serbien; Monash University in Australien
  • Special features regarding the equipment
Access to nursing and medical literature databases, e.g. CINAHL; well-equipped treatment room at the university; cooperation in the Sim Lab with practice partners; eye tracking and further research equipment at the Centre for Empirical Research and Centre for Digital Transformation.
  • Special features regarding research and development
Cooperative research in the Department of Health takes place for and with our practice partners. Cooperation partners are found in the health care industry, medicine, nursing, other health care professions as well as in politics and science. Research focuses on educational research, implementation research, and teaching-integrated research. In integration seminars, interesting empirical surveys are conducted together with students. Not infrequently, this results in student contributions at conferences.
  • Other special features
"Original" dual degree course with the best career opportunities in nursing practice: The training-integrated course of studies in Applied Health and Nursing Sciences combines the practical three-year nursing training with the study of Health and Nursing Sciences and thus enables the acquisition of two degrees - the examination in the nursing profession and the Bachelor of Science. The study of Applied Nursing Science combines attendance phases with phases of self-study and offers an expansion of job-specific and personal, especially scientific competences.
