Special features regarding teachingA lot of the teaching is done in the form of laboratory experiments, exam preparation week between lectures and exams, 6-month practical phase after the 4th semester (for assignments abroad and larger projects)
-

-
Special features regarding the equipmentAround 20 % of all classes are taught in the form of laboratory experiments and internships. Most laboratory experiments are carried out in groups of two. Excellent and modern equipment for basic laboratory experiments in electronics and automation. The latest software and computers are available at all times for use in study, practise and work. Well-equipped library and online access to many textbooks and exercise books, standards and scientific databases. Interdisciplinary projects such as ‘Digital Factory’, electric vehicle with fuel-cell range extender and much more.
-
Special features regarding research and developmentWithin the framework of studies, students have the opportunity to contribute to a research project in the field of climate protection. It is also possible to contribute to a MATLAB toolbox for the structural analysis of linear control systems. In cooperation with various Steinbeis Transfer Centres on campus, interdisciplinary projects are carried out in the fields of digitisation of production, plastics processing, development methodology, engine and vehicle technology, and digital supply and energy management.
-
Support for foundersThe students at the DHBW enter into training contracts with dual partners. The dual partners of the DHBW invest a lot of time and money in the training of junior staff throughout the degree through training allowance and offering practical supervision. It would make no sense and would be counterproductive for both the university and the dual partners if the DHBW, as a dual partner of the training companies, were to support students in setting up a business.
