Special features regarding teachingElective Courses: Medical Imaging, Platfrom Specific Signal Processing, Data Science, Biometric Systems, Media Security, Computational Geometry, Machine Learning. The STG actively researches and publishes in these fields, and there are numerous industrial cooperations and projects (FFG, FWF, EU). Each student chooses at least 2 elective courses and, as part of a free elective course, can freely choose another 6 ECTS credits from the English-language offerings.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe STG is taught entirely in English and is aimed at an international target group. Students currently come from countries in Europe and Asia and from Canada. The International Office of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences establishes contacts with students from other STGs, and numerous language courses (German) are offered as well as regional events.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe STG benefits from the excellent laboratory structure of the STG Information Technology and Systems Management, under whose leadership it was established. All students also have access to PC rooms and many software licenses (matlab, visual studio,...).

Special features regarding research and developmentThe department is involved in several research projects. On the university side, there are FWF projects in the areas of Media Security and Biometrics, Image Processing, Computational Geometry, and on the universities of applied sciences side there are R&D projects (FFG, contract research) with several international industrial partners in the areas of Medical Imaging, Data Science, Signal Processing.
