  • Special features regarding teaching
    Optimised curriculum for project-oriented teaching; three-semester consecutive project in the field of development of integrated circuits including production and measurement of a prototype in the laboratory; Specialist optional courses worth 20 ECTS credits in the 3rd semester; Some specialist courses are held by external experts; Involvement of renowned experts from science & research (e.g. annual guest lectures as part of the Master's thesis seminar)
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    High percentage of international students also of high importance from a regional economic point of view (e.g. high demand for experts by international companies with local branches), the language of instruction is English.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Practice- and industry-relevant IC technologies, CAD tools and computer hardware is made available for training-related project work. Example: The production of a microchip at international semiconductor companies is part of the curriculum.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    Master's students are regularly involved in the ongoing research projects (research associate contracts); Active cooperation with regional industry as part of cooperative research projects (Josef Ressel Centre - http://www.jrz-interact.at/). The degree course is one of the most research-intensive at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.
