  • Special features regarding teaching
    The degree programmes in agricultural primary production in the field of agriculture and the food industry combine basic skills from these areas in the sense of bioprocess engineering. The result is a very application-oriented curriculum with a unique feature in relation to comparable degree courses in bioprocess engineering.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Laboratories have been set up specially for the degree programme in the centre for food technology as well as in the field of process engineering. A separate AgroFuturium research centre is currently being set up. It is set for completion in March 2022.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    For the primary production of raw materials for further processing into innovative food concepts, a new research center - AgroFuturium - is currently being built, funded by the EU and the state of Lower Saxony. It is made up of vertical indoor farms and roof greenhouse farms. Material and energy cycles of urban areas are to be used for plant-based food production, which has a high biotechnological potential.
  • Other special features
    Given the high level of application-oriented orientation, the degree programme offers oustanding career prospects. Modern and comprehensive laboratory equipment, classrooms and IT facilities. Comprehensive offer in support of the course of study, e.g. small learning groups, internships, tutorials, learning zones, projects, excursions, consultations, projects, presentation training. Varied industrial networking, resulting in numerous industrial and research projects and very good preparation for practical careers.
