Further information provided by the department

  • Special features regarding teaching
The student regularly switches between theory and practice in the dual study programme and can always apply his / her knowledge directly in practice. In addition, the student can choose between 3 specialisations in the field of Childhood Education, Youth Social Work and Services for Adults.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
Due to the legal circumstances, application of teaching in the international area is not practical.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
We offer our students an extensive online library of the Library Information Service in the field of Social Work, Social Sciences and Law. Here you will find all the information you need for your theses. They also have access to Citavi, electronic journals and e-books as well as other scientifically relevant, subject-specific information and publications. There is also the possibility to use an online consultation hour for support.
  • Special features regarding research and development
Currently seven research projects at national and international level. Further applications are being assessed. The "100x Future plus" project at the Bremen location aims, for example, to introduce and establish a regular residents' survey to promote and improve client-centred assistance for people with multiple intellectual disabilities. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Regina Kostrzewa, the students developed the questionnaire taking into account the limitations of the target group and carried out the survey.
  • Other special features
Recognition at the same time as graduation: State-recognised Social Worker and Social Pedagogue.
