Numerous study areas are available. The library has access to extensive literature, including through an online library network. Cooperation with university competence centres (including SAP).
  • Special features regarding research and development
The profile of the university is characterised by strong practical relevance as well as close collaboration with industry and other partners. Since small and medium-sized companies are often not able to operate adequate research and development facilities, the university makes a vital contribution to the development of the region by acting as a "research laboratory" for these companies. In addition, the research serves the purpose of continuously updating the curriculum and provides interesting fields of work for the students as within the framework of projects and theses.
  • Support for founders
In the Entrepreneurship professorship, the Faculty has an institutionally anchored contact point that ensures the curricular integration of entrepreneurship-oriented modules and extracurricular awareness for supporting start-ups and innovation projects. There are courses on entrepreneurship, brainstorming workshops are offered regularly where students develop their own business ideas, and there is the Co-Working Space entrepreneurs’ lab, which students can utilise for entrepreneurial and innovation projects.
  • Other special features
Many students receive scholarships, many in the cooperative model (scholarship coupled with work in the company during the semester break); individual advice to students through career centres and lecturers; coordinated schedule of hours and exams for all courses. The department encompasses both Economics and Engineering, which promotes interdisciplinary teaching and research (example: Technology - Environment - Economy).
