  • Special features regarding teaching
The range of courses offered by the department prepares for the diverse business activities and tasks in middle and higher management levels of the constantly changing health and care market, such as management and organisation, controlling, marketing, internal and external quality management in health care facilities. The lecturers all have a relevant professional biography in these fields. This guarantees a practical orientation to the future professional fields of the graduates.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The department maintains collaborations with partner universities in Austria, Spain, the United States and Finland. In cooperation with the partners of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Austria, the simulation of a business game is regularly carried out with the students of both universities. There are also intensive research efforts in the field of Health Economics with Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. This gives the course an international orientation that extends beyond Germany and Europe.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
The NB University offers students free access to international literature databases, free WiFi throughout the house, access to a wide range of software solutions, including for health econometric calculations. The university network in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania provides students with the option of cheaper office and statistical software. Furthermore, the NB University maintains various computer cabinets that are actively used in teaching and are also available to students for the preparation and follow-up of courses etc.
  • Special features regarding research and development
The problems underlying the research projects are always oriented towards practice. The knowledge gained in this way continuously enriches the teaching of the department. In addition to publicly funded research projects (BMBF), a large number of contract research projects are also being worked on, for example in the field of preferential research in the healthcare industry.
  • Support for founders
During the course of their studies, students receive numerous support offers centrally held at the university in finding ideas for a possible start-up. Examples include the MV ideas competition (for market-ready idea development) and the University of Applied Sciences NB's business transfer officer for the placement of practical partners and market contacts. Additional skills can be acquired for founding a company through additional skills development via the "Studium PLUS" offer from University of Applied Sciences NB.
