Support for foundersThe start-up institute of the SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg has existed since 2010. This is aimed at students, graduates (up to 5 years following graduation) and staff of SRH. At least one team member is supposed to be associated with the SRH (student, graduate, staff member, lecturer). In recent years, the founding institute has been able to successfully support student start-ups on a regular basis (including living brain, compleatfood, Simon & Bearns, My heart beats vegan).

Other special featuresThe CORE principle (Competence Oriented Research and Education) of the SRH University of Heidelberg (Genius Loci Prize for Teaching Excellence 2018) promotes the acquisition of skills through independent learning by students in teaching, research and practical transfer. Practical topics are worked on in 5-week blocks, with a maximum of two subjects in parallel, and each is completed with competence-oriented exams. The integration of technical, methodological, social and self-competence pursues a holistic higher education, through which students acquire a professional qualification to act.
