    The content is conveyed in didactically demanding and interactive courses, in which a high level of psychological specialist and methodological competence is imparted with a pronounced practical orientation. Current challenges in business and society are addressed through evidence- and research-oriented teaching content while taking best practice examples into account. The aim is to develop sustainable skills so that you can flexibly and successfully find your way in a VUCA work environment and to help shape it.

    UNIVERSITY COOPERATIONS ABROAD; Department of Business and Media at home and abroad: 41. Europe-wide, China, USA, Russia and Australia; International Business School; own location in New York; Competence Centre International Services. OFFERS CCIS: 3 Integrated semesters abroad: New York (Berkeley College & Pace University, own study centre!), Shanghai (SILC), Sydney (UTS); 13 Erasmus+ semesters abroad Freemover semester abroad possible worldwide; 7 business excursions per year (New York, Budapest, London, Helsinki, Dublin, Strasbourg, Madrid).

    The students of the Department of Business & Media in Cologne currently have a total of 75 computer workstations with MS Office, SPSS, Unity 3D, Cinema 4D, MaxQDA, R Studio and Adobe Creative Cloud, which are serviced and maintained on a monthly basis. Test library; Eye tracking system for business psychologists; access to 12 relevant databases, e.g. B. PsychInfo or PsychIndex possible both in the library offer and from home; Space: Empirical-experimental test laboratory; licenses for online questionnaire software "Unipark".
  • Special features regarding research and development
    The research focus "Sustainable leadership and management concepts" deals with various research projects on topics such as salary transparency, hybrid salary structures and sustainable consumer behaviour. The research focus "Positive Psychology and Sustainable Working Behaviour" deals with the research and application of the relatively new field of "Positive Psychology" in the work context. Current research projects deal with the determinants and consequences of flow and mindfulness in the context of teams and organisations.

    Competence Centre Entrepreneurship - support for business start-ups; contact to alumni who themselves have founded companies => Passing on experience - for example in the context of guest lectures and regular alumni events; cooperation with the launch site (a Cologne incubator and accelerator)

    Personal, individual support for students while benefiting from the advantages of an inter- and multi-disciplinary university; choice of a focus in the 3rd semester: Marketing and Consumer Psychology, Personnel and Organisational Psychology or Coaching and Counselling Psychology; possibility to change to one of the other locations at any time, where the Master's program in Business Psychology is also offered (Hamburg, Berlin, Munich); Compact study, i.e. teaching spread over 3 days, if possible
