  • Special features regarding teaching
At the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, dual vocational training and Bachelor's degrees are interlinked. The idea is to place the three places of learning on an equal footing: demanding practical skills in the company, broad knowledge of the entire vocational field in the vocational school, academic skills and scientific basis in the university. This close integration reduces duplication and allows for two degrees in four years. Accompanied by coaching, the students decide after 18 months whether to continue on the path to a double degree or to complete the training alone.
  • Special features regarding research and development
Together with the Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education and Training (HIBB), we are conducting a project to establish quality management. The model project "Quality Assurance of Hybrid Training Courses (tQM)" is being funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the competition "Shaping the Future - Innovations for Excellent Vocational Education and Training (InnoVET)". The goal is a trial quality management system (tQM).
