  • Special features regarding teaching
The overarching goal of the training, consistent with the generalist career profile, is to integrate all sub-areas of planning and design into a whole programme. With this aspect in mind, the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses are designed as consecutive, interrelated development steps. The Bachelor's degree course teaches basic principles while the Master's degree course is dedicated to advanced knowledge and individual specialisation. The very good ratio of Master's to Bachelor's degree places make access to the Master's degree course possible for all qualified Bachelor's degree graduates.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
Every semester the department organises a lecture series to which international speakers are regularly invited. Internationally successful architects are also employed regularly as guest lecturers. Major excursions abroad that are very popular also take place every year. The students are also supported in making use of the degree course's contacts abroad and to also complete their practical semester in a foreign country, for example, in Turkey or Chile.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Universidade Federal Fluminense/Rio de Janeiro (Brasilien); Universidad Politécnica; de Valencia/Valencia (Spanien); National Taiwan University of Science and Technology/ Taipei (Taiwan)
  • Equipment of the work places
Pool room with 25 workstations, Master's thesis room approx. 15 workstations, various seminar rooms with approx. 15 - 50 workstations.
  • Special features regarding research and development
The department regularly strives to acquire research projects that are also carried out in cooperation with other higher education institutions or companies. The research focus here is currently in the field of building air-conditioning and energy-optimised building. New building concepts and innovative building-integrated technologies are developed here that lead to new aesthetic forms of expression. These new concepts are then ultimately incorporated in the department's teaching.
