Special features regarding teachingThe architecture department offers a unique studio system which allows diploma and Bachelor's/Master's students to study in parallel. Its size (it is the smallest university degree course in Germany) and the Diplom provide unique study experiences across semesters. As part of the All School Charrette, all students work across semesters on a semester project in the first weeks of study time. The entire faculty goes on a trip in the summer semester. This produces lively interaction between the semester generations, which is second to none in Germany.
Special features regarding the international orientationAlongside the standard Erasmus links with Spain, Italy, Poland and Portugal, there is also a range of direct contact with higher education institutions in Asia and South America. Special programmes such as summer schools or student exchanges are regularly offered here. At the same time, the direct contact with the assistant professors also enables great individual freedom in shaping the international focus.
