    Architecture courses are taught in small, manageable units with direct and individual supervision; Project and design work with elective options and in studio structure; Cooperation with the degree course in Energy Engineering, interdisciplinary with other relevant degree courses of the university and beyond; International connections via various partnerships (see international orientation) and guided excursions; Practically oriented teaching and applied research; Integration of a practical phase of 100 days of compulsory attendance into the course structure; Good facilities.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Partnerships and cooperations with foreign universities: CalPoly Pomona, USA; HSLU; Lucerne, Switzerland; CalPoly San Luis Obispo, USA; Univ. of Patras, Greece, etc. Practical semesters abroad are supported and recognised. Internat. guest professors complete the teaching offer. Extensive range of guided arch. excursions. Summer Schools. The HBC is unique in Germany in offering an international Bachelor's degree for courses. Students invest an additional semester and spend one practical and one study semester abroad. The year abroad is an integral part of the degree, and participants receive a certificate.
