  • Special features regarding teaching
The teaching staff is comprised of different personalities with their own "personal touch" who are also active in practice (projects, competitions, juries, awards, publications). There is very collegial and constructive communication and cooperation; Regular and fast joint evaluation for further development of teaching in terms of changing conditions in practice and in the professional profile of the architect. Teaching pure and simple = students and teachers have direct contact; International guests in teaching and critique complete the profile.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The students in the Master's degree course have the year-round opportunity to visit a design project being carried out at the partner university CUJAE in Havana. The Caribbean winter school is a very popular international module in which several renowned and internationally recognised higher education institutions participate. In addition, one important focus of teaching is the experience of architecture on site. Regular excursions even during the Bachelor's degree complete our teaching offerings. One special highlight of the first semester of the Master's degree course is the "Stegreife", a short design programme with international participants.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Bergen Arkitekthogskole, Bergen, Norwegen; Brno University of Technology, Brno, Tschechische Republik; Copenhagen School of Design and Technology, Kopenhagen, Dänemark; Instituto superior de Ciencia do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE), Lissabon, Portugal; Manchester Metropolitan - School of Architecture, Manchester, United Kingdom; Politechnika Krakowska, Krakau, Polen; Universidad CEU San Pablo, Madrid, Spanien; Universidad de Granada, Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, Granada, Spanien; Universitá IUAV di Venezia, Venedig, Italien; Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), Barcelona, Spanien

  • Special features regarding research and development
Digital production is an important and forward-looking branch of architecture training. First steps in robotics and advanced experiments in the development of printable materials result in an interesting field at the crossroads of traditional architecture and modern implementation. Other exciting fields of research emerge in the area of interactive creation of model environments, work with the GIS and analysis with BIM. Further research focuses are energy optimisation of buildings and benchmarking, the evaluation of buildings.
  • Other special features
At the Leonardo campus, architecture students live in an environment that enriches their degree course. The creative spectrum of the university landscape comes together here with Architecture, Design and Art. In addition to academic studies, the "Green Campus", the student-run Café 8bar and the friendly atmosphere invite students to relax and take a break. The model of student participation in all areas of study is exemplary among German universities. The student body considers itself to be part of "Architekturschule MS" and shapes the MSA itself.
